Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary’s Spaghetti Dinner is tomorrow, Saturday, September 3rd, 4-7 p.m., Hwy 108 Fire Station. Proceeds of course benefit the Fire Station.
We’ve been busy prepping for the event.
Thursday I went out to the fire station at 8 a.m. and began making 200 servings of our spaghetti sauce that will be for sale on the 3rd at the dinner.

It starts with sweating the onions
Add the tomato products and herbs and stir–every eight minutes for the next 5 hours!
I got Diane to take a turn at stirring! She’s one of the Defensive Space Inspectors. We had to move from the stove to the propane burners to get the temperature low enough.
Packaged and ready-to-go pints of sauce—-fire fighters, defensive space inspectors and a few others had a few little samples so there aren’t quite 100 pints of sauce. Get yours while we still have some!
Cover’s Apple Ranch donated a flat of heirloom tomatoes and another of bell peppers for our salad. Be sure to give a THANK YOU shout out next time you shop there for produce and pies. 19211 Tuolumne Road in Tuolumne. The bell pepper pieces will be available next to the yummy salad for you add to yours if you choose. You can also thank Cathy Richardson, former Mi Wuk Village postmaster, and her crew, for the delicious salad.
Back to business, Interim Fire Captain Delgado and Intern Garcia haul the chairs to the bays from their storage area using the Tom Car. Tom Car will be used for off road search and rescue.
