Dead Tree Removal. The Pink Dot.

Have you seen a tree that has markings like this?

Pink dot = removal with assistance of a crane

That pink spray painted dot means that it’s not safe to climb the dead tree to take it down and the assistance of a crane is required.

If you needed to drive in or out along Lama Tamalin yesterday or today you will have encountered traffic delays.  The cranes are large, the trees are large, electrical overhead wires are dangerous and our streets our narrow.  Hence delays.

For the work area of Lama Tamalin and Haiapo you can avoid the delay if you stay on Lama Road at the four-way stop sign and continue on to Nuka Trail.  Turn left and then turn right at the end onto Lama Hisum.

However……..there is an even larger crane removing trees at Lama Hisum and Taismu Court that requires traffic delays as well.  If you’re going beyond Taismu (sorry about the spelling) you should just stay on Lama/Lama Teumete and make your turns from there.

Here are some photos from yesterday and today (I don’t know why my photos are so small):

I have no idea how long these crews will be in the area but I’m thinking we should gratefully get used to them!
