FIRE FIGHTER APPRECIATION DINNER

The Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District is awesome and I hope this community knows that!

Last night the Word of Life Fellowship honored our department with an amazing dinner attended by about 100 people.

I only took a few photos but they show the effort the fellowship went to.  I wish I had taken a full shot of the t-a-l-l Christmas tree that held these ‘ornaments’.

The tree was covered with these ornaments.

And then someone came to the station and picked up some plain old plastic children’s fire helmets and made them into…………

They are spectacularly sparkley!

Chief Larry Crabtree gave a brief history of the department and the Auxiliary.  This current year commemorates the 50 year anniversary of the (Women’s) Fire Auxiliary to the Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District.  The group has provided for fire fighter needs all these years: washing machine/dryer, uniforms, belt buckles, protective gear, esoteric tools, drying “contraption” (my words) for the fire hoses and on and on.  If you have a few spare minutes please consider joining the Auxiliary.  We would welcome more warm, interested women and men.  You can pick up a membership form at the Hwy 108 station or call and have one sent to you.  You don’t have to be a full time resident.  What activities do we do?  Fund raisers:  Annual Rummage Sale, Pancake Breakfast, Spaghetti Dinner.  And then there are other little events the Auxiliary sponsors throughout the year.  We honestly need more helpers at the Pancake Breakfast and the Spaghetti Dinner so consider participating!  Yes, you still get to eat the yummy food.   🙂

Have a great safe Holiday Season.

Please don’t forget the Fire Department’s “Angel/Giving Tree” which is located in the great room of the Hwy 108 station.  You can refer to this post for more information.  Gifts for the family are beginning to trickle in and it would mean the world for them to have a “Christmas”, especially for the 3 and 2 year old children.  If you have a specific item in mind that we haven’t thought of, please go for it!  Thank you so much from the department and from me.

    Love the new site.
I have heard that some young partiers broke into my neighbor’s house on pine lake drive and had quite a party. Just a warning to those of us who are part-timers. Keep an eye out for your neighbors. Have a safe and happy new year.

Thank you Monica re the site. I like it too. It’s SO much easier to work with.

It makes me sad to hear about the partiers. Some day, when they are adults, they might get their just due. I know that we have keys to several of our part time neighbors’ homes as well as most of their phone numbers and we’ve always got our eyes open.
