You might or might not know that our Mi Wuk Library is no longer a part of the county library system. But, through arrangements with the county the library remains open for 6 hours per week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1-4 p.m., staffed 100% by volunteers. We pay $1 per year rent to the county! And the county takes responsibility for the building maintenance and utilities. It’s really been a win-win situation. All that said…….read on.
The Friends of the Tuolumne County Library sponsors an annual garage sale fund raiser at the Twain Harte Golf Club every January. It will take place on January 13th and 14th, with a High Country Friends Gala on January 12th this year.
You can drop off your books and other items (no clothing, old electronics, exercise equipment or large furniture please) on Thursday, January 12th between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Golf Course Clubhouse.
The Gala is Thursday evening from 4-6 p.m. and is $15 at the door. Join in for refreshments, wine, music and a Silent Auction.
All proceeds from this major annual fundraiser will benefit the Mi Wuk Lending Library and the Twain Harte Branch Library for such things as books, children’s programs and library equipment.
If you’d like to volunteer to help for a few hours during the event, contact Joannie Dahlgren at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you’re interested in helping out with the pre-organization, give Marilyn Wachner a call at 586-9471 or email email@example.com I know they can use all the help they get.
