WOW! For the first time EVER, the Mi Wuk Heights Mutual Water Company’s storage tanks have been vandalized by two teenage delinquents, with small-ish footprints. They were caught in the act by residents in the neighborhood but got away before the Sheriff’s Deputies arrived.
This is not amusing. Also in recent days a generator has been stolen from an Olo Win Trail home and a motorcycle from under a hard-to-access deck (aren’t they all!?) on Lama Hisum Road.
It’s been many years since property damage has been witnessed in Mi Wuk and what they did to the tanks is heartbreaking. Where are these kids coming from??? The graffiti will be removed or painted over this weekend.
Everyone, please be on the lookout for roaming, wandering young people who are where they don’t belong when they don’t belong there. Russ and I may be in Idaho now but Mi Wuk Village still holds our hearts and this is just beyond sad and wrong.
Sheriff Deputies came out to assess the damage and take photos. The tanks are FEDERAL PROPERTY and this act of vandalism is a FELONY.
This is not OK. Please keep your eyes and ears open.
