Mama, Yogi & Boo Boo Stealing Picnic Baskets Again

Mama Bear and her two cubs, which we have affectionately named Yogi and Boo Boo, are back in the neighborhood looking for picnic baskets.  The trio has broken into garbage cans in the last two nights on Lama Hisum, Olo Win Trail and Lama Teumete.  The bears are only looking for food and we humans are making it easy for them to find food.  The garbage can is the bear’s picnic basket.

Pictures provided by Keverne Denahan on Lama Teumete at 2:00 a.m. this morning.

We humans need to make it less inviting for the bears to forage through your picnic basket by keeping your garbage can secured except for when it should be put out for pick up on Monday morning.  This means that your garbage can should not be put on the street on Sunday nights but wait until Monday mornings prior to 7:00 a.m. to put your garbage a.k.a. picnic basket on the street for pick up by Waste Management.  The more we eliminate the temptation for the bears, the quicker the bears will move into the forest for their food.

This is the first post by Blythe’s conscripted successor Gregory Oliver.  Looking forward to providing much useful information to everyone in the Mi Wuk Village area.

Amen Jon. I’m very grateful that Gregory accepted my challenge and I know he’s going to keep the blog going in the fun/informative local way it was designed. Besides that he’s a really fast learner! 🙂 ~Blythe

Just visited my buddy on Nupa Ct there. He reminds me that it’s actually the Bear’s home and they tolerate the humans who stay around. Beautiful place to live and visit.
