NEW 'TURN OUTS' FOR OUR FIRE FIGHTERS

If you missed last night’s Potluck & Bingo (first Wednesday of the month, 6 p.m.) at the Mi Wu Sugar Pine fire station, you missed the debut of our fire fighter’s new turn out gear.  Chief Crabtree had requested that the Fire Auxiliary approve paying for new lighter weight turn out gear a few months ago.  The request was approved and the new gear has arrived.

I wanted to see how heavy it was and how it fit.  I’ll never have the opportunity to don totally clean turnouts again!

It’s amazing the detail put into creating this gear.  Special pockets and clips, built in suspenders for emergency assistance, layers of safety fabric.

If you’d like to check this gear out “up close and personal” drop by the station and ask to have a look.  This is the gear the fire fighters wear whenever they go out on a call.
