The following text is pretty much what I heard on the 10 p.m. PG&E phone call last night (October 27).  From the PG&E PSPS page:

Due to continued expectation of gusty winds and dry conditions, combined with a heightened fire risk, PG&E may need to keep off, or in some areas turn off power in your area.  If you are currently out of power we will make every effort to restore power before then. However, some customers may remain out of power through the duration of this next potential Public Safety Power Shutoff.  For customers with power restored in between events or currently with power, we urge you to use the opportunity to charge any medical equipment, phones and other electronic devices and to also restock emergency kits. By providing your specific address information in this tool, you are getting a more accurate view than PSPS area map. Get the latest information on this event at
