Fi (pronounced f-e-e) is short for Fiona, the daughter of owner Jessica Isley. Jessica has spent many years working in restaurants as well as attending culinary classes at Columbia College. Her motto is to feed the public the way she feeds her family (3 children under 4 years old).
Sauces are made from scratch and the beef she uses is grass fed. She makes her own cocoa mix for the kids as well as her own house made hot fudge.
I ate lunch there with a friend today and we both had delicious creative salads since we’re watching our carbs. Mine was a Cobb salad with grilled chicken, hard boiled egg, gorgonzola cheese, bacon, avocado and tomato with bleu cheese dressing. My friend’s was today’s special: a Grilled Shrimp Salad. I forget the other goodies with her salad except that it had a balsamic vinegar dressing.
I can’t wait to go back. There’s a creative breakfast menu as well as additional salads, grilled sandwiches and burgers. There’s also a kids’ menu.
Jessica is trying to support local growers and producers for as much of their product as possible. Much of the art work inside is created by the owner and family members.
