Property Inspections Start Tomorrow, June 14th (Flag Day)

What VIPs will be looking for.  (Read the details in the PRC 4291 PDF link below.)

Following is a letter from Steve McClintock, our Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Protection District Fire Chief relating to the upcoming property inspections:

The VIPs (Volunteers in Protection) will be starting home inspections on Friday, June 14th, 2019.  They’ll will be walking through the neighborhoods, identified with yellow vests.  If you see them and want to ask questions , they will be happy to answer any questions you have.  Remember, they are out there to help you and point out any potential problems.  They have your best interest in mind in keeping you and the community safe.

Cal Fire will not be with them this year, but keep in mind that Cal Fire is available to them for oversight and support.  The inspector’s goals are to get the community in compliance with State PRC (Public Resources Code) 4291.

I have attached a short version of PRC 4291 as well as the inspection sheet that will be used.  I again ask that before you jump the gun with anything on that inspection sheet that you please ask for clarification.

I want to thank the community for your support and for the doing your job in keeping our community FIRE SAFE.

Thank you,

Steve McClintock, Fire Chief

Over the past month and weeks, I’ve seen many homeowners pro-actively clearing their properties and it makes my heart sing.  You’ve all been well trained.  🙂  I think you know how important these inspections are to the safety of our lovely community.

See you (maybe) tomorrow or Saturday or any of the following days when we’re out doing our civic volunteer ‘duty’ inspections.  Inspection days will vary depending upon availability but we’ll always try to encompass Saturday when part-timers might be up for the weekend.  I look forward to meeting and interfacing with my neighbors every year as do the other volunteers.
