Quick Santa Update

Yes, Santa and his entourage came through the village last night.  They even stopped at the bottom of our driveway!

I love getting the opportunity to sit on Santa’s knee and whispering my Christmas wish into his ear.  I had Mrs. Claus’s permission.

Several years ago our fire fighters, between calls and station duties and training designed and built Santa’s local sleigh.  It attaches to the chief’s pickup truck.  I don’t know all of the technical hook-up details but it sure is a fun addition.  And I think it’s a fabulous asset to the community.

This vehicle is a Tom car, an off road vehicle.  It was acquired for close to free, renovated, painted at the prison in Copperopolis, equipped with proper communication gear and is able to assist with off road retrieval of victims in areas where standard vehicles can not go.  It cost the public (i.e. taxpayers) $00.00.  It was driven last night by one of our interns, accompanied by Chief Crabtree’s daughter, Victoria, who is on leave from the Navy for two weeks.  It was great to meet her!  Engine 771 is following the Tom car so it could be a part of Santa’s entourage yet be ready to go at a moment’s notice in case of an emergency call.

If you have photos of any of the decorated homes in the community I would love to post them here on the blog.  There are some real ‘smilers’ out there.  My iPhone photos just do not do them justice sadly.  Just send them to me at blythek@mac.com.

Merry Christmas Eve
