WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY EXTENDED UNTIL NOON TODAY (April 8th)

The Winter Weather Advisory issued for the Sierra Nevada above 3,000 feet has been extended until noon today.

According to the National Weather Service, an additional one to two inches of snow accumulation is expected.

Winds of five to fifteen mph will continue with gusts up to twenty-five mph.

IS CLOSED FROM 7.2 MI EAST OF STRAWBERRY (TUOLUMNE CO) TO 5.3 MI WEST OF THE JCT OF US 395 (MONO CO) /SONORA PASS/ – FOR THE WINTER – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED FROM TWAIN HARTE TO 5 MI WEST OF LONG BARN (TUOLUMNE CO)

CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM 5 MI WEST OF LONG BARN TO 7.2 MI EAST OF STRAWBERRY (TUOLUMNE CO)

YES, we finally got some s-n-o-w all day yesterday and overnight.  A few more inches are a possibility this morning. Woohoo!  It sure is wonderful to look outside and see the white fluffiness of the snow for the first time since November 2014.

Our cats, Fred and Ginger, were testing that white stuff as well as enjoying a few minutes out in the fresh air. They get to go outside for short intervals!
